FAQ

Things Tampa homeowners ask while standing in two inches of water.

If your question isn't here, the dispatcher will answer it on the call. We've never charged anyone to ask a question.

Q · 01
What should I do before the crew arrives?

If safe: shut off the water source, kill power to affected rooms at the breaker, and move paper, fabric, and wood items to dry surfaces. Don't enter standing water near outlets. Don't run the HVAC — it spreads moisture through the whole house.

Q · 02
Is water damage covered by homeowner's insurance?

Sudden/accidental damage almost always is — burst pipes, appliance failures, sudden roof leaks. Outside flood (storm surge, river rise) needs separate flood insurance. We'll tell you which bucket your loss falls into in the first 10 minutes on site, and pull the right adjuster.

Q · 03
How do you bill insurance?

Direct, with every major Florida carrier. We submit Xactimate scope, daily moisture logs, photo packet, and the final invoice. You pay your deductible only — itemized in writing before any work begins.

Q · 04
How long does the drying process take?

Three to five days for a standard Cat-1 (clean water) loss with industrial dehus and air movers running 24/7. Cat-2 (gray) and Cat-3 (sewage) take longer because containment + sanitization come first. Equipment leaves only when daily moisture readings hit baseline.

Q · 05
Do you handle mold remediation?

Yes — IICRC AMRT certified. If we find existing mold during a water job, we contain with negative-air HEPA scrubbers, remove drywall back to dry studs, treat with EPA-approved antimicrobials, and re-test before reframing.

Q · 06
What does it cost out of pocket?

With insurance, your deductible. Without insurance, average Tampa water-damage jobs run $3,000–$8,000 depending on Cat level and square footage. On-site estimates always free. We won't quote without seeing the loss.

Q · 07
Are you licensed and insured?

Restoration is performed by licensed Florida contractors operating under our dispatch. Partner contractor license numbers available on request before any work begins. Flood Rescue Tampa is operated by KAK Digital LLC, fully insured.

Q · 08
Do you actually answer 24/7?

A live human, every hour. Holidays, hurricanes, 3am Tuesdays. The phone tree starts the day a chat-bot picks up.

Q · 09
Where exactly do you cover?

Tampa Bay only: Tampa, Carrollwood, Brandon, Seminole Heights, Hyde Park, Westchase, South Tampa, New Tampa, Temple Terrace, Town 'n' Country, Riverview, Lutz. Outside that radius we'll route you to a vetted partner — but we won't pretend to dispatch.
